Hatice Tepeyurt Mason

Hatice Tepeyurt Mason was born in Istanbul in 1975. In 1997 she completed her bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and Marketing in the Faculty of Communications at the University of Istanbul. She began working in the Communications Sector in public relations departments of the highly respected fine arts schools of Istanbul.

Hatice’s interest in unique and different types of jewelry led her to begin designing her own jewelry in 2000. On seeing significant interest in her glass bead and semi-precious stone designs, Hatice decided to elevate her work from the status of hobby to the professional level. Her work received great attention in Canada and she began taking special orders.

In 2005, Hatice was introduced to the flameworking technique and, thus, entered the magical world of glass. She studied with German glass artist, Michaela Maria Moeller at Istanbul’s Glass Furnace. Later, she attended workshops at Montreal’s Espace Verre.

She is continuing her glassworks in her Montreal studio
